What's Involved
For a blood drive in the Darien and Stamford communities call 1-800-358-6741. When you call, you will be put in touch with a blood drive representative, who will contact you and can discuss your blood drive opportunity.
Your Red Cross representative will want to learn more about your group or organization, its size, and where, when and how often you are together, and how you communicate with each other. You may be asked to answer some additional questions to ensure your group meets certain minimum requirements.
Successful blood drives are a true partnership between the host or sponsoring organization, the donors, and the American Red Cross.
Who Organizes a Blood Drive?
People who organize an American Red Cross Blood Drive have an unmatched capacity for caring and commitment to saving lives. Since each blood donation can save up to three lives, there's simply no better way to give back to your organization and community than by organizing a blood drive.
Blood drives are hosted by all kinds of organizations and individuals, including: schools, religious groups, social clubs, community and charitable organizations, and businesses of all sizes. American Red Cross blood drives instill a sense of spirit, pride and camaraderie throughout the group that builds prior to the blood drive, and stays with everyone long after the drive is over. Donors recognize the sponsoring group or organization is one that truly cares about the community and the people that live there, creating valuable goodwill for which there is no price tag.
Organizing a blood drive is easy, and the good news is, you'll have lots of help.
On behalf of patients and their families who are depending on the generosity of people like you, we thank you.
